Janieasha Freelove-Sewell Selected to National Black Lawyers “Top 40 Under 40”

The Mike Morse Law Firm is proud to announce the National Black Lawyers (NBL) has named Janieasha Freelove-Sewell to its “Top 40 Under 40” Black Lawyers in Michigan. This class of just 40 consists of black Michigan lawyers who have shown superior skills and qualifications in the legal field. Membership in the NBL is by invitation only and solely consists of the top 40 attorneys under 40 in each state who have achieved outstanding results in their careers and continuously demonstrate excellence in their careers.
The NBL is a professional honorary organization composed of the Top 40 Under 40 Lawyers in the American legal system. Membership is by invitation only and is extended exclusively to attorneys who excel in their profession and work to promote diversity in the legal field. The NBL is one of the very few preeminent organizations in the country that aims to promote the top black attorneys and continuously works toward the professional development of all of its members.
Janieasha earned her Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law in 2017 and her B.A., in English and Spanish, from Georgetown University in 2008. She joined the Mike Morse Law Firm in 2017 as a personal injury litigation attorney. Janieasha vigorously represents clients who have been involved in motor vehicle crashes, hit and runs, and dog bite incidents, and advises them on their auto insurance benefits and their rights under the No-Fault law. Janieasha is passionate about advocating for clients during court hearings by telling the story of how their life has been affected due to their injuries.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Janieasha was a teacher with the national organization Teach for America and taught students from pre-K to adults for over ten years. As a lawyer, she continues to mentor and tutor students, as well as volunteer at College and Career Day events at schools throughout Metro Detroit.
Outside of her work, Janieasha is also a member of the Young Lawyers Section of the State Bar of Michigan, an active alumni of Michigan State University College of Law, and a member of her local Georgetown University alumni group called Georgetown Club of Detroit.
With the selection of Janieasha by the NBL “Top 40 Under 40”, she has shown outstanding leadership skills, superior qualifications, and performance in personal injury law. The selection process is based on peer nominations combined with third-party research. The NBL “Top 40 Under 40” is a powerhouse for networking and information for black attorneys throughout the United States. At the end of the selection process, the chosen members compile into a comprehensive list of the most outstanding black lawyers within their state of practice.
