John Nachazel Chosen as One of Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s 2021 Unsung Heroes

The Mike Morse Law Firm is proud to announce John Nachazel, Chief Operating Officer has been named one of Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s 2021 Unsung Heroes. John, among the other 25 honorees this year, was chosen for consistently going above and beyond his call of duty, often behind the scenes. This award is reserved for Michigan’s most talented and dedicated legal support professionals — from paralegals to legal marketing, to COOs!

John recently celebrated his 13-year anniversary with the firm and has been crucial to the firm’s growth since the day he was hired. While John is responsible for integrating the different departments of the firm to work together, he does so humbly and never demands credit or recognition. Every decision and process John implements is to ensure our clients receive the best legal representation and customer service possible. He strives for excellence — to make us the best law firm in the country, so we can continue to serve both our clients and our employees with the quality they deserve. So many of our employees have been with the firm for over a decade (and many approaching two decades!), largely due to John’s outstanding leadership and management. Never one to rest on his laurels, John has continued to expand his focus outward — in addition to running the firm, he has also taken on managing Mike’s law firm consulting company, FIREPROOF.

To give readers a glimpse of the man behind the curtain, Michigan Lawyers Weekly (MiLW) asked John a few questions about his life both inside and outside of the legal industry.

MiLW: What have you learned from working in the legal field?

Nachazel: Most lawyers became lawyers because they possess a genuine desire to help people and make the world a better place.

MiLW: What is the best part of your job?

Nachzel: The satisfaction that comes with being part of a team that helps our clients in profoundly impactful ways every day.

MiLW: What advice would you give to someone thinking about entering your profession?

Nachazel: Many lawyers need help with the business aspects of their firms. Lawyers are not taught business skills in law school, but they are essential to building an optimal firm.

MiLW: What do you enjoy doing in your time away from work?

Nachazel: My family raises Future Leader Dogs, puppies that are training to become guide dogs for the visually impaired. Leader Dogs for The Blind in Rochester Hills, MI is a truly outstanding organization worth supporting!

MiLW: What is something most people may not know about you?

Nachazel: In 2020, I co-authored a book with Mike Morse called FIREPROOF: A Five-Step Model to Take Your Law Firm from Unpredictable to Wildly Profitable.

Although John has never been the type of person to require accolades, we couldn’t be happier that he’s getting some much-deserved recognition! John Nachazel is the glue that keeps the firm together. He’s a driving force that inspires us to keep elevating our performance. And he’s an exceptional human being that we’re proud to call our COO. Congratulations on this incredible achievement, John!
