In 1995, I founded Mike Morse Law Firm with a passion for doing what’s right and a drive to win—values I learned from my dad, a dedicated attorney whose legacy continues to inspire me every day. Today, as the owner of Michigan’s largest personal injury firm, I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built: a team of 250+ legal experts who have helped over 100,000 clients and recovered more than $2 billion for accident victims. Every case is personal to us, and we never lose sight of the people behind the paperwork.

Over the years, I’ve been honored to receive numerous awards

and accolades, including being named one of America’s 50 Most Influential Trial Lawyers by The National Law Journal and The Trial Lawyer Magazine; being rated as a Top Lawyer by DBusiness and Super Lawyers; and earning multiple Golden Gavel Awards for our work in legal education and advocacy. I’ve been featured as a legal expert on The Today Show, Huffington Post, and local news across Metro Detroit. I also co-founded Fireproof, a company that helps other law firms grow stronger from the inside out, built on lessons I shared in my best-selling book of the same name.

I was born and raised in Detroit, and I’m a proud dad to three incredible daughters. I love to golf, travel, and stay involved in the community that’s given me so much. Detroit will always be home, and I’ll always fight for the people who call it home too.

1989
Graduating College

After earning my B.S. in Business with honors from the University of Arizona, I started law school at the University of Detroit. I planned to join my dad’s personal injury firm, but during my first year, he passed away unexpectedly while on vacation. That loss changed everything, but I stayed in school to honor his legacy.
1992
The First Few Years

After graduating and passing the bar, I joined a small law firm to get hands-on experience. Those early years taught me how to manage cases, connect with clients, and start thinking like an entrepreneur.
1995
Fired, Then Founded

On my dad’s birthday, I was fired by his best friend. It hurt, but it lit a fire. Within days, I opened the doors to my own firm. No clients. No staff. Just a rented desk, a phone, and the drive to build something meaningful.
2007
Office Fire

A fire destroyed our office, forcing us to rebuild from the ground up. That moment became a turning point. We came back stronger and with better systems, a clearer purpose, and a renewed commitment to growth.
2008
Hiring John Nachazel

I hired John Nachazel as our 27th employee—and our first-ever Chief Operating Officer. With John’s leadership and operational expertise, I was finally able to delegate, focus on growth, and scale the firm with structure and intention. His role helped transform Mike Morse Law Firm from a growing law practice into a high-performing legal business.
2011
Moving Into Our Headquarters

We moved into our current headquarters at Evergreen and Northwestern. It gave us space to grow and a physical home base for the vision we were building.
2011
First TV Ads and 855-MIKE-WINS

We launched our first commercials on local TV across Metro Detroit—and with them, 855-MIKE-WINS was born. The bold messaging and memorable phone number helped us stand out in a crowded market, boosting visibility and cementing our brand in the minds of injury victims across the region.
2013
The Launch of Project Backpack

We launched Project Backpack with 300 backpacks filled with school supplies to help kids in our community start the year strong. Today, we’ve distributed over 300,000 backpacks and counting.
2020
Founding Fireproof

I co-authored Fireproof with John to share how we built and scaled the firm. The response from lawyers around the country was incredible! Its success led to the launch of Fireproof, a coaching and mastermind company now helping hundreds of law firms grow using the same proven framework.
2021
Meet Your Best Friend Begins

We partnered with Michigan Humane to launch Meet Your Best Friend, our annual pet adoption event. Since then, we’ve helped over 1,000 animals find loving homes and built new community connections along the way.

Today, Mike Morse Law Firm is Michigan’s largest injury firm with over 250 legal experts, more than $2 billion recovered, and 100,000+ clients helped. What began at a single rented desk has grown into a firm with offices across the state, serving injury victims wherever they need us.
