Free Initial Consultation: A Step-by-Step Guide to Your First Contact with our Personal Injury Attorneys.

You’ve no doubt seen our very own Mike Morse (or his beloved mother, Sue) on TV describing our free initial consultation and the promise we make to our clients — we’ll charge nothing from the moment we first meet you until we win your case. It’s all true. But what exactly is a free initial consultation? And what happens the first time you call our office after you’ve been in an accident? To help you understand how the intake process works – and just how easy it is to get started as our client – read this step-by-step guide to meeting with your very own personal injury attorney at Mike Morse Law Firm.

Step 1: Experience an accident. It could be caused by a car crash or motorcycle accident, a work incident, a slip-and-fall in a store, a bite from an unruly dog, a doctor’s or hospital’s incompetence, or a truck driver’s carelessness. Actually, if you’ve been hurt for just about any reason due to someone else’s negligence or bad actions, we can likely help. But if you’re not physically injured (say your car was totaled but you weren’t hurt), we are likely unable to take your case. After all, we’re personal injury attorneys, so unfortunately, you’d need to be injured before we can begin to help you recover financial damages to help pay for medical bills, rehabilitation fees, auto repair charges, car insurance deductibles, prescription costs, lost wages, pain and suffering, and any other damages you may have experienced following your injury.

Step 2: Call us. We can’t begin to help you until you tell us you need us. So, a phone call to our offices at 855-MIKE-WINS (855-645-3946) is the very first thing you should do after you’ve been hurt. Of course, you can also send us a text at 833-898-MIKE (833-898-6453), email us, or even come to our Southfield office in person.) The moment we hear from you is the moment we can start to help you.

Step 3: Tell us about the accident. We’re good listeners, and we’re excellent at taking notes. You won’t have to do anything when you call beyond telling us the basics about what happened to cause your injuries. We’ll also ask for some other relevant information, including your name and address, your phone number, a description of how, when and where you were hurt, your insurance policy information/declaration page, your doctor’s name, and any treatments you’ve already received. We’ll also need to know such essentials as your social security number, driver’s license number, the responding police department that arrived at the accident scene (if applicable), a police report number, and a claim number from your insurance company if you have it. Finally, if you took any pictures of your injuries or the accident scene, we’ll ask you to send them to us for possible use as evidence (or we’ll arrange for a photographer to visit you in person – even if you’re hospitalized.) This may sound like a lot, but we promise it won’t take long at all, and we’ll do everything we can to make the process as painless as possible. After all, we don’t want to add to your suffering!

Step 4: Become our client. Once we’ve talked for a few minutes, we’ll let you know if we think you have a case. After that, it takes just seconds to sign a retainer agreement either online or in person. You can even sign up with us via text message or email! However, you should know up front that not every case is a perfect fit for every law firm. So, we can’t always take on every one that comes our way. At the same time, we have a strong team of attorneys who specialize in dozens of different practice areas, so there’s a good chance we’ll find a lawyer who’s a match for you. Then, starting the moment you become a client, you’ll benefit from attorney-client privilege and all the other advantages of working with Mike Morse Law Firm, including our unmatched legal expertise and legendary experience at winning cases that have so far surpassed $1.5 billion in settlements for our clients.

Step 5: Get acquainted with the attorney and legal team who’ll be working on your case. Once you’ve become a Mike Morse Law Firm client, your own personal attorney will be in touch with you to confirm everything about your case, clarify the process for you, answer any questions you may have, and to discuss how they will work together with you as your case proceeds through the court system. Your attorney and the entire Mike Morse team will help simplify complex legal processes, identify expert witnesses, locate eyewitnesses, interview medical professionals, assist with obtaining police reports, seek out video evidence, and generally pursue all necessary materials to prove your case. They will also approach the people who caused your injuries (as well as their lawyers and insurance company) so you can spend your time recovering from the accident and returning to normal life instead of worrying about legal details. And to reiterate, you’ll spend nothing out of your pocket for any of this work until we win your case!

The Best Thing to Do is Contact Us Immediately Following Your Accident

As we all know, memories can be short — especially during stressful times. The faster you contact us after you’ve been injured the better. You’ll have a stronger recall of your accident details and can give us a first-hand description of exactly what happened. Of course, if your injuries are serious, or you’re unable to contact us yourself for any reason, a loved one can get things started for you. That’s why it’s a good idea to have a contingency plan in place in the event you do get in an accident. Let your family members know that you trust Mike Morse Law Firm to win your case! And be sure they have our number handy: It’s 855-MIKE-WINS (855-645-3946).
