Steven P. Meerschaert has dedicated his life to supporting and representing people in their hour of need. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno, and his Master of Arts in Counseling at Oakland University. As a licensed therapist, he had a successful career in mental health, addiction treatment, and hospital administration.
Steven went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, where he participated in Law Review, Moot Court, and served as President of both the American Constitution Society and the Mental Health Association.
Steven also is a published legal scholar, with his note titled “For the Greater Good: Civil Commitment for Addiction Amid the Overdose Epidemic” appearing in the Cleveland State Law Review.
Steven’s greatest accomplishment is being a father, and he credits his family with inspiring his work ethic and tenacity in the pursuit of justice.
