Acquiring a Detroit Car Accident Report
In Detroit, crash reports are another term for accident reports. Insurance companies typically require crash reports if you are applying for a claim with them.
You can go to the Detroit Central District Police Department located at 7310 Woodward, Detroit, MI 48226, to get a copy of your accident report. If you need additional assistance regarding the report, call (313) 596-1908 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
You may also find the report online, using the TRACView Report Delivery System, by first going to www.detroitmi.gov, and then clicking on the Police Department heading, and finally on the Police Records tab.
For both online and in-person Detroit car accident requests, a valid I.D. card is required.
